Precious thoughts to share......

Hello dear friends.......
I have been thinking about my blog and how I have usually just posted photographs. I have found so many beautiful pictures from the internet......so many people share such beauty and sensitivity. But I have thought so much about things that I have not shared......my thoughts and feelings, things that I cherish and ponder about. I really want to share more of my dreams and thoughts with others. My husband and I are spending a lot of time alone lately. As our job as decorative painters is through at the state capital, we are not working now. Rather, we are trying to work on our children's film......."The Enchanted Treehouse". It's so difficult though to discipline ourselves to a schedule. As artists, we love having time to be creative, to look for other artists whose work truely inspires us and to just follow our motivations to learn and enjoy ourselves. But we haven't gotten enough done on our film!!! We finally have a basic story now to work with so that helps!!!
One of the things that I wanted to share are the things that I cherish the most......and also I wanted to talk about the things that truely bother me......
I love animals and children! Animals are so precious! They cannot speak to us but their silent language is a way of bringing God's spirit into our hearts. Animals are so soft and sweetly mysterious. We were watching a wonderful old Russian movie last night called Three Wishes for Cinderella. There were some very sweet scenes Cinderella, a peasant girl with the animals she loved! A beautiful white horse, a soft owl, a funny little dog, and beautiful doves, white doves! She was so gentle with them and so kind. You could tell that the animals truely loved her because she loved them so much!! Animals just touch my heart so much. We live in an apartment and can't have any animals and I just miss that so much......we used to live on a small farm in Washington and we loved it. We had a pony, chickens and a rooster, rabbits, pigeons, ducks and geese and a cat and a dog! How blessed we were to have so many wonderful animals. I miss them all so terribly! Whenever we see a cat or a dog, I am so grateful for them and stop to take time to say hello to them and give them some attention! We truely need to cherish animals and take care of them!
Children, too, truely touch my heart. They are so funny, so amazing and so wonderful! Such energy, such love for life! We should learn from children every moment! They have spirit and life and love! Their voices are so sweet and funny. They have such wisdom and creativity and imagination! I cherish children and their wonderful spirits. I miss our sons.......they are 27 and 30 now. We talk to them 2 to 3 times a week which is wonderful, but we miss the wonderful life we had as a little family. How wonderful that was! I want to say to anyone with children at home......please cherish your time with your children!!! You just can't imagine how much you will miss them when they are on their own!!
If anyone out there is in the same situation as my husband and I......just the two of us now......can you tell us what you do as parents on your own.......to keep from being lonely? To feel like your life still has meaning and purpose?? It's so hard, still, to be on our own. We love being together, but we definitely miss the life we had with our dear children. We of course still see them fairly often, but it's not as easy to do so as we'd like, so we try to talk to them on the phone or with our webcam as often as we can.
I would be grateful for you thoughts about these things.......hearing from any of you helps me so much!!! I appreciate all of you!!!
Here's some more beautiful pictures for you.......hope you'll enjoy them!
Love to all.....
Debbie

  1. The sentence "I love animals and children" sounds a little funny to me. It sounds as if you're putting animals before children. I'm sure that's not the case.
Also I noticed you put up one of my pictures in your older post. I like your blog, but it would be nice if you'd let your readers know where the pictures you put up come from.

  4. Hi Debbie,
Happy Valentine's Day! This is a little shoppe in a small town called Freestone in Northern California. I unfortunately didn't get the name of the shoppe.
