Our most exciting news......a book about our nature art!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My husband and I have been working on a book for over a year about our nature art!! It has been an incredibly exciting and enlightening experience and we have learned so much. It is an instructional book about how to make our fairy furniture, fairy houses and little characters. It will be out next spring, in April, as far as we know. Mike and I wrote the book and took many of the photos. The manuscript is done now and is with the editor; we are working with them on proofreading her edits. We're also working with a publicist and a book designer. It has been the most wonderful experience and the people we are working with are so kind and helpful. The book will be published by Familius. We've seen some of the finished pages and they are so beautiful! This will definitely not be just a dry, factual book but very elegantly designed with a very artistic look with inspiring instructions and a fun, very uplifting feeling to it. This is really a dream come true for us, so we are really excited to be working on something that we have wanted to do for a long time!!

 

We will have photos of the cover and more information soon when we are able to release more about the book. In the meantime, we hope you will share with all your friends, family and acquaintances about our upcoming book. It's going to be very special.

 

The photos above are not necessarily ones that we will be instructing how to make, but samples of our little fairy furniture and houses. Some of the photos above will be featured in the book, however. I have been so busy lately, trying to finish our book about our fairy furniture. It will be out May of 2015; we're so excited!! It is an instructional book about how to make our nature art. We have been working on it for almost a year. It's taking longer than it normally would because my husband and I have been working full time teaching art to adults with disabilities but finally cut our hours down to three days a week, so our lives are quite a lot more stress free and calm. We are grateful for that. We also have been having so much fun buying and selling antiques as well and have just become so busy with that. We call our new antique business "Lost in the Attic". We have found some wonderful things and love looking for the most beautiful antiques we can find. You can see our beautiful china, antique hats and purses, dolls and many other lovely things on our Ebay store "natureartgirl". We hope to have some of our antiques and vintage things on my Etsy shop in the very near future. It's called "sunflowerhouse". We also some day would love to have a real brick and mortar shop. We had a wonderful gallery several years ago and loved it. We had so much room to work on our art and were so excited when people came in to see our art.

August, my birthday month......

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

my birthday is coming up in three days.....august 17. isn't it funny how the day that our birthdays falls on seems like such a perfect day, a special day, unlike any other? I love august, partly because I was born in august but also because it's summer and summer is the most wonderful time of year to me. I love sunshine and happy summer days. I think my wonderful childhood helped me to appreciate those kinds of things. it's more challenging when you get older to feel those kind of feelings. I will be turning 64. I never thought I would be 64, which is funny but you just don't picture yourself getting older, at least I didn't. but, I still feel young. I wish that I had happier things going on in my life, like a more peaceful, stress-free job, my own home and a garden and a cat. that would make my life 600 % happier, if that's possible.....(I think it is). sometimes simple things can make such a huge difference. even just having a cat could make me happier. they are so comforting and wonderful and soft. a garden of flowers and herbs would bring me peace and beauty and lovely colors and fragrances. I don't ask for much in life, really, but I know Mike and I will get back to those things in life that bring us joy. we keep trying, we keep praying, working, going forward.

 

I was so sad to hear about Robin Williams. He was such an amazing person with such a gift for lifting people's spirits.....giving them a little more joy and laughter than there was before. I think that people who take their own lives just are not able to cope with all the stress and pressure they face. it is really sad because so often they are the kind of people who just amaze and touch us and give us such genius and creativity. I hope he is ok now somehow. he is loved and I hope he knows that, too. I think he does.

 

my birthday is sunday.......a nice day to celebrate the day I came to earth. I hope it's a good day. I am grateful for my life, especially my family. they are more important to me than anyone or anything. I would love to hear from any of you. haven't gotten any comments on my blog in such a long time. have a wonderful day.
