dancing feet and birds escape......

i can't believe it's been so long since i have posted anything on my blog. we have been working so hard at our job as decorative painters, we come home and are just exhausted. i wish we had a life again.....where we had the energy and excitement to create and do fun things. this job really takes a lot out of us.
i haven't even been looking very many things up on the net lately either. just busy with other things, but i do hope you are all finding moments of happiness and joy in your lives and times as well that you will remember later with fondness. nothing is as important as enjoying life and the people in it!!!
i wanted to ask.....has anyone posted a video or movie on blogger yet? i tried to do that but it just never loaded. any suggestions?
more later; have a bright and beauty filled day!

The beauty and mystery of nature in art......

the woods are a tranquil, beautiful space on this earth where voices of history and lovely, mysterious creatures
walk about and talk and listen
with ancient ears and hearts.....
here our child can swing upon the clouds that have drifted away from the icebergs of sadness.....the child within us can walk to the place of gardens and beauty and find the hidden smile inside.
listen and dance and find the joy in your heart again.
it is there.

Time goes too fast......

We are still in Utah, working. It is so hot here; it's just unbelieveable that a place can be so hot. I think I would rather deal with cold weather than all this scorching heat. But eventually, it's bound to get cooler.
We are still working at the state capital, doing painting. Some days are very difficult; others are tolerable and sometimes even fun, especially talking with our co-workers.
We haven't had very much time to work on our art lately, though and really miss that. Need to take some time to create some beautiful things. I hope you are having time to do creative things that inspire you and make you feel happy. It's so important to use your talents.
More soon....take care.

Painting and perseverence.......children and fairies!

Hello everyone,
It has been so long since I've posted anything. My husband Mike and I moved about a month ago from Califoria to Utah and eventually found jobs working together as decorative painters at the Utah State Capitol. We've been working there for about three weeks and it is very hard work. The first week was so unbelieveably difficult for me (and for Mike, too). We have to climb up and down ladders and scaffolding constantly, kneel and sit on the floor to paint the lower parts of the walls, work in a hot and dusty area and just plain work hard! By the end of the day, we are so exhausted. About a week and a half ago, I started having problems with my shoulder. I probably pulled a muscle or something, but it is so painful and has just not stopped hurting. Then last Friday, I pulled a muscle in my back and have been in terrible pain with that. I can't believe all of these things are happening. I have been trying to get well, but it is really painful trying to get through this.
We rented a very nice condominium here near Salt Lake City and are enjoying that, though. It is very comfortable and nice for us to come home to. The weather here is so hot. It is unbearable. But the last few days, it has been stormy and overcast and we even had some rain, so we were so grateful for that!!!
I hope all of you are doing well and having a good summer, what is left of it. I will try to post more things now that we are more settled.
Here are a few pictures I found on the internet that you might enjoy. Take care!

Moving takes so much time!!!

Hello dear friends, We have moved to Utah and it has been quite hectic trying to get settled. We were staying with some wonderful friends of ours for a while, but were so busy trying to find jobs, that I just haven't had time to post anything new on my blog. So sorry! I have so missed adding things to my blog....it was just such a source of happiness for me, so I can't wait until I can get back to doing that. We don't have the internet at our new apartment yet, but should have it soon, so I will be posting some new things soon. I have just been using the computer at the library....which is good but not like having your own computer! Hope you are all doing well and having a fun, cool summer! Debbie

fashion, art and photography......

today is cooler somewhat here, but in this room, looking out at the trees beyond this window, i dream of beautiful gardens and lovely lakes, birds flying above and flowers blooming everywhere. my spirit seems to always be drawn to beautiful green and lovely places. my soul is mystified by the deserty areas that are barren and lonely. they seem as if a people had once inhabited them, but then to suddenly depart and leave behind them their lonely spirits, for land that is dry and barren always feels desperate to me, lonely and forlorne. i always feel like walking about, flayling flower seeds everywhere and praying for abundant rain for this poor, destitute soil, crying out for a green and lovely life. how much of this earth we live on is this way.....abandoned and alone and waiting. if only we could grow beautiful things on it once again and bring back it's spirit.
it reminds me of the film by the french director. i cannot unfortunately remember his name. it is called...."the man who planted trees". what hope and brightness he restored back to this land.....filling it, after a time, with beauty and people and laughter and life once again. that film is truely beautiful and inspiring. i wish i could find a copy of it to own for myself. i would watch it over and over again. it is so beautifully made. does anyone know where i might find a copy to buy??
utah is very beautiful in it's own way, but the sun shines so hot here, my soul seems to melt away and cry out for water and ferns and towering green, majestic trees. this is not a climate and a land i am accostomed to, nor able to adapt to very easily. but for now, i am trying to see the possibilities here and feel the beauty that is here.
have fun today.....hope you can do something truely extraordinary and different today to wake up your spirit!!!
